Preservation Partners consults with land owners or developers whose property has significant historic value in the history of America. We focus on Civil War battlefields and related sites, but also work with property deemed historic for other eras and reasons.
In a process often marred by controversy and acrimony, we develop ‘Win-Win’ scenarios for the owner, the community and for our nation.
How we do it
At Preservation Partners we use our experience and expertise in real estate development, land-use, political negotiation and historic preservation, to strike deals that are positive for all stakeholders. As a first step, the "Core” property to each historic event is identified. Where additional land is available, Preservation Partners will work with local officials to recast zoning to allow development that is sensitive to the site, and profitable to the land-owner. Our international experience in real estate development allows us to identify opportunities that others might miss. If only core land is available, Preservation Partners will create solutions of long-term buy-outs, land swaps, tax incentives and a variety of other approaches to protect the land as well as the family who owns it.
We at Preservation Partners do not use a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Each owner has a family history and concern that is unlike any other. Each site is different, each opportunity unique and each community is special. That myriad of factors makes each solution different from every other
